I am trying my hand at making my own guns. I got them all built but am struggling to get the BBs to feed correctly.

I am currently test with 120psi of compressor air (potentially my first problem becuase of the lower PSI). Even on the lower pressure, I have force a BB down the magazine tube. Once a single BB is in the chamber, it fires and sounds quite nice. I am thinking that I have the set nut at the botton set too high.

    Potential Issues:
    1) Too low of PSI for testing (~120PSI)
    2) Bottom set nut is up too high.

    Thoughts?

Here is a video for setting the end cap height

120 psi is fine for testing guns, they should work the same.

you can also consider adding magnet to the T

If you’re still having issues, send pictures of gun and of piston/spring/end cap/ T

I have a rare earth magnet hot glued to the T, left over from deck installation.

As you can see from the photo, the brass T on the left has about a 1/16" larger bore than the brass T on the right. This minor extra space was allowing the spring to sqeazy around the piston and slide up into the brass chamber, thus blocking the flow of BBs into the chamber. So when I was pushing BBs down the magazine, I was essentially pushing a BB between the spring rings and into the chamber. Thus only getting one shot at a time.

I have since switched out the T to the one on the right and put 25 BBs through it as fast as I could push the button.... that gun is HOT now!! Even without a magnet on it, I'll throw one on there for good measure. But I'd say we're in business.

The painful discovery that not all fittings are created equal. Probably worthwhile to get a whole bag of the good T fittings, so you aren't screwed when the local hardware store decides to save a cent or two on each fitting by switching to a cheaper brand.
