From the pics on BC, i would say yes. The line on the top of the bulge warrants a stringer in my opinion. I looks like a similar hull shape to my Graf spee, which has a stringer.

at the top of the bulge it needs a stringer to fit the skin. I can say this as I have a BC PE hull in my house.

That would be how I do it. I am surprised at the number of folks not chiming in on this one.

Not that many PE's out there, the one at Nats this year, was the same one I recovered from the bottom of our pond after 2 months sitting on the bottom. Most of the balsa was rotted away, but if I remember right it did have a stringer. As far as I know Lief has it right now.

My buddy Bill G. has one. Nice looking boat and you can even see where the stringer would go. By all means, put it back in.

Anyone know how many torp reloads this ship carried? I see that she's got 4 triple mounts, roughly p and s below each director. There's plenty of pics showing additional torp stowage at prinzeugen dot com. I was just wondering if anyone knew how many reloads were carried. I remember a recent post or thread about torp cruisers, so does anyone think this could qualify as one? 16k tons full, 33 knots, 12 tubes.. might be nasty.

    cheers

In Big Gun? I would think that with that much wieght, you could set up the guns too.

my guess is as a torpedo cruiser, her speed would be an issue. From what I've read from the big gun guys (no personal experience, so your mileage may vary), you really need to be in the 35+ knot range to be a GOOD torpedo cruiser. Any less then that, and you don't have enough of a speed advantage to escape several varieties of Allied capital ship.

Looks great!, those rear gun barrels are looooooong! They should make anyone thinking of a sneak attack from the rear think twice.

All of your ships are nice looking. You ought to put up some photos in the Warship Registry ... to make the Allies jealous. ;)

That is a nice looking boat. Good job!
Hope that she sails as good as she looks.

In BIG Guns, torps are a single shot weapon. You need to return to port to reload.
