Hey, folks. There is a Big Gun Scharnhorst for sale in my club, the WWCC. It is 90% complete and includes wooden hull, guns, plumbing, electronics, radio, superstructure, etc. It has been test-floated and sailed around, but has not seen combat. The owner is no longer able to participate in the sport, and wishes to recoup his material expenses.

Asking price is $1000, buyer pays shipping. Post here or PM me if you are interested.

update: the Scharnhorst has been sold, and is no longer available.

I thought I had some, but I can't find them. I'll take some on Saturday when I see it again.

As you can see, the cannons are high quality BDE triples, with a 16-oz CO2 bottle and Stabilizer regulator by Palmer Pursuit. Unlike many Big Gun ships, the cannon barrels are actually mounted at correct scale height. It also includes a Futaba Skyport 6 radio, two powerful Seibel pumps with APC, and a Proboat waterproof ESC. The hull also includes an innovative mounting system for the CO2 bottle and batteries, and the gun mounts and servo mounts are also beautifully designed. Even if you ignore the materials in the hull and the hundreds of hours of labor, if you tried to purchase the components separately you would still be spending $900 to $1000. As I mentioned earlier, the current owner is no longer able to participate, and is looking to recover some of his material expenses.
