Hey everyone, Always wanted to do something like this so I decided might as well hop into the hobby. Its probably going to take a minute to build my first boat dew to my wife going to collage, and me starting in a bit, but still excited to get started,

I’m thinking right now of building two 1.5 unit ships as test platforms and trying out both. That being said I haven’t found a good thread for explaining fast guns yet.

    For fast gun ruleset.

For fast gun, unless you have extensive experience or a build to clone exactly (vac-u-boat Fletcher I am looking at you) the odds of having a fun and functioning 1.5u boat are very low. Much easier to build options in the 3 to 4.5 unit boat classes are available from https://south-jersey-shipyards.myshopify.com/

    Hello, Welcome!
another member in Utah @LjWolf303 just started as well. I would echo the advice of building a little bit bigger boat, probably a 3 unit cruiser.

These guys are right. I am a new Captain. So, the reason I went with a 5.5 unit (Dreadnought) is because I have experience in building RC’s. Not necessarily boats but that concept applies to most platforms too. Cars, trucks, and buggy’s, etc. If I didn’t have this kind of experience, I’d probably go with a 3-5 unit boat myself. SJS is a great place to start. Takes away how to build questions and is it within fighting specs? That’s very helpful.
