I have so many models and hulls on hand I'll never finish or use them all. I need to cut down the fleet to save space and make room for a possible G3 hypothetical battlecruiser.

    Surplus Models:

    1) HMS Black Prince
IRCWCC Class 3 armored cruiser. I bought this one back from Rob Helliwell in June so Ralph would have a ship to battle with this summer. He'll have one built by the spring so BP will be surplus after October. (I already have the similar but 3.5 unit Minotaur).

BP has my standard construction of fiberglass deck glassed to a Duke of Edinburgh Class hull, plus the usual internal layout with radio gear forward away from the motors, Camurati pump and my cannons that break down into 4 sections for servicing. The model will be partly resheeted and fully repainted after battling ends (October).

    2) I-400/402
Greatly modified BC submarine hull with my more accurate fiberglass superstructure (conning tower and hangar). Suitable for conversion to a convoy ship (has a working ballast tank system installed for diving and resurfacing using 23 gm CO2 capsules). If converted to a surface runner can dispense with ballast tanks and have a larger battery for longer runs.

    3) HMS Minotaur
Class 3 armored cruiser (3.5 units for IRCWCC). Same construction and general lay-out as Black Prince but uses a DoE hull lengthened by 1". It's an effective combatant but I have an Indefatigable hull that'll provide a replacement with another 0.5 unit and sidemounted guns.

Final decision re sale pending soon. This is the only 1/144 Defence Class hull in existence and the model is well designed and detailed.

    Surplus Hulls:

    1) Kent Class heavy cruiser hull and turrets
Class 3. Rob Clarke has expressed interest in building another one of these but if he's changed his mind it'll be for sale.

    2) 2 HMAS/HMS Albatross seaplane carrier hulls
See picures in the Photo section. Can be used as a Class 1 combatant or convoy ship.

    3) HMS Abercrombie/Roberts hull + turret and round or 12-sided barbette
Class 2. WWII 15" gun monitors, twin ruddered, 4' diameter turning circle.

    4) Indefatigable Class battlecruiser hull
Beautiful Ralph Coles product. Class 4. Will sell this if I decide to keep the unique 3.5 unit HMS Minotaur.

    5) Graf Spee
Class 3. Bought from Ralph Coles in June but realistically I'm unlikely to build it in the next 2-3 years and can always get another one locally.

    6) Russian CL Profintern/Krasni Krim hull
Class 2 (2.5 units). Nifty looking ship with many different gun placement options. I'm building one but have a spare hull available.

    7) Sri Ayuthia - Siamese 'pocket heavy cruiser' hull
Small ultra-light model (about 3 lbs max and 21" long). Class 1 ("gunboat or other"). One hull in stock and more can be made. Hull deepened for extra 25% vs 1 lb displacement allowed under fast gun rules. Floats at scale waterline with max. wt. aboard.

Send me an email if interested in any of these. Photos will be posted soon.

Models and hulls I'm keeping (for now) are:

    1) HMCS Prince Robert - Class 1 CLAA

    2) HMS Gorgon - Class 1 monitor

    3) Krasni Krim - Class 2 CL

    4) Minotaur or Indefatigable

    5) Hybrid BC/CV Furious

    6) HMS Vanguard

    7) HMS Rodney

    Still too many!

    Bob

    Chris,
I hope your shop has more room than my cubbyhole in the basement. If we had more space I wouldn't have to get rid of so many hulls. Kim wants as much 'junk' out of the basement as possible.

    Bob,
My wife knows the models too well for me to try that!

    Justin,
Contact me off forum re what you're interested in and I'll give you a price. Except for the I-400 the completed models won't be sold until they've been repaired at the end of the combat season.

    Bob

I sent you a email on the Sri Ayuthia but have not heard anything back from you, it may not gone through. I was interested in getting a price quote on it.

    Thanks

    Chris,
Rob Clarke has too many projects on the go to build another Kent Class heavy cruiser. The hull and 4 turrest are available if your friend in NB is interested.

    Hi Chris,
The price is $110 for the hull, 4 turrets, and a copy of the deck template with recommended hatch locations. (For comparison the BC Suffren Class heavy cruiser hull without turrets costs $125.)

If he gets the $$ to me before Cannats X Paul or Jay might be willing to take the hull and turrets to NB.

If anyone has a Richilieu hull I would be very interested in purchasing one.

    Hi Curt,
It's one of Ralph's, but I am not sure if it's the one you mean. I bought it just before he went to Africa. I wanted to have a couple of hulls around in case someone wanted one while he was gone.

Price is $150 plus shipping (if required).

I think Blair has one too. Maybe Tommy can a hold of him to find out.

    Bob

Frank had the Krasni Krim at the Battle today, and of course I forgot my camera. But I will make sure I got it for tomorrow.

But what a nice running ship, I thought for sure she would rock and roll quite a bit, due to how narrow she is, but nope she is quite stable. He has both guns coming out of the forward casemates, one on each side, with just about 1 inch sticking out of the hull.

With the forward guns he hits alot with it, I found quite a few of his brass colored BB's in the PE. And it runs in reverse at 22 sec with no problem, so no way I could catch it.

    David,
Thanks for the report on the KK. The hulls should be quite stable because they're 3/8" deeper than scale. I'm working on the second hull - need to mold the fiberglass decks and install the props and rudders before the end of September. This one will have 0.5 unit guns in all 4 bow casemates.

One of the rules we have down here in treaty is that the barrel count cannot excede unit count. So a 2.5 unit ship could only have two barrels. We did this to stop people from spitting two 50 round guns into 4 25 round mounts, or a 1.5 unit ship from one gun to 2 25 round guns. We figured a quad 25 round mount on a small ship would giv e it power way beyond its size and a short time on the water. It has worked well for us
