    Hey guys, quick questions....
    1) I saw a great picture of a copper accumulation tank, and i was wondering if anyone knoews where the pic is, and what size the piping was.
    2) Is skotchkote the only brand name for this substance or is it also named something else, and if so, what is it called and where can i get it? Also, are there any other substances relatively similar that would also work?
    Thanks guys.

the accumulator tanks come in all sizes. I use tubing that fits the boat, usually 3/4" or 1" diameter... Just make one that fits.

Scotchkote is a brand name, but there are no direct substitutes or copies that I know of. Liquid electrical tape is similar, but I have heard people report that it eventually loses it's seal and peels off, unlike scotchkote. I would stick with the good stuff.

Scotchkote is made by 3M, Liquid electrical tape is more similar to tool dip, neither of which work as as well. Gascan is correct that they peel off much much eaiser than skotchkote. for a cruiser I'd use 1/2" or 3/4" pipe, home depot sells it in two foot sections as well as the caps for the ends. Expansion tanks are simple to make as long as you have a butane or propane torch, i also reccomend soldering the brass clippard fittings right into copper end caps. For the reciever potting I personally use electrical epoxy made for potting that I found in a local electronics supply store but I know people that have used west system epoxy or the loctite epoxy from home depot or wherever without any problems. When mounting a reciever in epoxy I like to install short extensions and epoxy those in place as well.

alright, thanks. I look for the pipe next time im there.
Yea, my step-dad has one of those torch thingies.
The BC direction say to add barbs to one end and then three on the side for the trips.
I guess ill deal with the reciever later down the road. Thanks

I made them a little different to get everything to fit, see:

Thanks. Do you think a single copper pipe will work for my trips instead of three like you have there?
    Thanks.

Depends on what "Works" you want to have. I ran my twins in Warspite off one large tank for a year. They work, they just did not work as well as when I seperated them into two tanks. They worked even better when i added check valves inbetween the tanks and the main supply.
