Good thanksgiving day to all captains and ship builders. I have recently started on a USS Texas build. This project was stemmed from me having a couple 3d printers. I was lucky enough to find a very kind soul to sell me some files to build the USS Texas. This boat was designed to be a big gun boat and will be filled out as such. So far from start to where I am at now has been about 2 weeks of printing and a dabble of Amazon. The hull is complete, super structure is 90% printed and the deck is nearly done. Building the boat with the printer pushed for what I had available for material. It is a bit of a hash of colors but paint will fix that. I am excited to join the community of rc combat. Thank you to Justin and everyone that has given me a hand so far.
Yes, my boys both have a copy of the st Claire. I might sneak a cannon into one of those for fun when it's just myself and the boys.
Good question, for the moment I was hoping to finish the boat, find someone willing to shoot at it and see if this is something I want to continue with. I guess I am under the impression that any fast gun boat can sink my boat fair and square. Especially if I have rate of fire limits.
I adjusted the original design for light weight barrels. Carbon fiber wrapped to use less metal. Turning 5 cannons has the potential to list the boat.
