Hi all Im a new member to this site, ive built some kits before but only a few. Id like to try and build 1 from scratch now, but am finding it difficult to read the plans. can anyone recommend a good site that explains well on how to read them or can someone here help ? I was looking at building the Aurora Russian Cruiser. Thanks in advance Paul
Go through the Warship Builds sections. The "On the Ways: Bearn CV https://rcwarshipcombat.com/threads/on-the-ways-bearn-cv.407920/ is a good starting place.
When someone goes to kinkos how do we know what scale or adjustment to use to get the plans to scale size?
Say the plans are in 1/200, and you want 1/144 The maths.... (1/200) * x = 1/144 then x/200 = 1/144 then (144*x)/200 = 1 then 144*x = 200 then x = 200/144. (this is the part you should remember and skip to really) x=1.3888889 So you need to scale by 1.39, or 139%
Know how long your ship is in real life, divide the length of the ship by what ever scale you need it to be and play with the print out size and just tape measure it till you get the desired scale size.
