I was a little curious... I have seen talk of using aircraft launched ala Devine Wind to inflict damage. Most of these flights originated from land IRL. So I thought for gameplay...what if someone was confined to a restricted area on shore, armed with some kind of limited range launcher that could be used to hurl 1/144th scale planes at the opposition? (A Zero Crossbow?) Hard to hit with but catastrophic results if someone was silly enough to try to blunder into range. (Again just like RL) Short of sitting ashore with a Daisy BB rifle, it would be somewhat akin to the shore based guns. Rig a simple target that once knocked over would "disable" these attacks... Just spitballing.

Aircraft do not integrate into our game very well. It is very difficult to make a launchable aircraft that inflicts damage without inflicting ridiculous damage or being unsafe for humans. I have also seen point values assigned to non-damaging catapult-launched aircraft, and that seems to work better. We have had better success building shore batteries, which you can see above. How about setting up an RC catapult launcher, like what we've got with shore batteries?

That's what I am talking about, very hard to hit with simulating the effective AAA of late war, but if they do connect it is a devestating hit. Instead of a complicated R/C rig use something simple like a slingshot like those cheap Dollar store gliders are launched from.

Using BB's seems a lot easier and cheaper than trying to build tiny planes and launch them, but it could certainly be done. In RL I cant think of a single instance of a Kamikaze doing serious damage to an armored ship (damage yes but nothing truly serious that would threaten the ship). They lack the ability to penetrate armor and the resulting fuel fire just burns on deck without causing much damage. The wooden decked US carriers and unarmored destroyers proved extremely vulnerable to Kamikaze attack, while British carriers (which had armored decks) simply pushed the burning wreck over the side and continued on without much worry. The Ohka might have been an effective weapon against armored targets IF they weren't so vulnerable before launch.

As to a fun factor, I don't think running the risk of catastrophic damage that I am defenseless to protect myself from would be all that much fun. I would just simply avoid that part of the pond, leaving the person with the slingshot having nothing to shoot at and a large area of the pond unused. This is similar to US fleet practice in the Pacific of avoiding being in range of shore based aircraft unless the mission required it.
