Whoever answers the question gets to ask the next one, and so on and so forth to the end of time.

This shore defense battery, armed with two 16-inch guns, was a break from previous large-caliber batteries, and formed the basis for all new 16-inch gun installations as well as for the modernization of most of the 16- and 12-inch batteries of the 1920s and 1930s. It is now a popular hiking spot and dog park. What is the name of the battery and/or the fort it was part of?

Wow, that was fast: 4 minutes 18 seconds. I was just making sure you were awake, that's all, yeah, just a warm up, you know....

Remember, anything vaguely relevant to naval combat, either model or historical, is eligible. If people are struggling, give a hint. If you can't think of anything, check that thread for ideas, with 156 pages of trivia. You're up Boomer.

What ship, although half sunk, was used to bombard the attacking Soviet army in WW2?

And yea, it was fast, i saw it, googled it and found it quite quickly. Yea, a warm up, sure, ha ha. Without google, i never would have figured that out.

Actually, WW2 Konigsberg was sunk in Norway. The WW1 Konigsberg was used as a shore battery against the british...not sure if it was after she sunk or not.
