One of our local papers found out about us and decided to run an article about our hobby. They interviewed a few of us and sent a photographer out to our labor day battle. The result was a decent enough little article in the paper, that was reprinted in atleast one other major local paper (The Seattle Times) and carried by a large number of other papers atleast on the online sites. I won't link to all the locations, but here is the original set: The News Tribune article The News Tribune Photo gallery How much this will do for us, I don't know. In the 24 hours after the article was published we received over 600 unique hits on our website, several mailing list subscriptions and a few people contacting me expressing interest of some kind or another on the contact page. If nothing else it has raised some local awareness of our hobby.
Very nice indeed. I see that big French battleship in there. I would think that you might pick up at least a few new battlers from this exposure. Mikey
I noticed a couple dozen more visit to Strike too, based off of the link you have towards the bottom of the page, and I imagine a few more to RCNC too (haven't looked at those stats yet). Glad to see the coverage!
I stumbled across a derivative article today. Clearly the author had read the original, but they include information not included in the original and I feel that this is a better written article overall. Play Real Life Battleship @ militarynorthwest.com
