YUT! sorry it's aMarine thing. I'm Phil and I live in Cincinnati Ohio. I am extreamly interested in this sport/ hobby, though my wife thinks it will never happen. I enjoy the concept of making a model that will actually see combat. I know that it is weird to see a MARINE wanting to play in a NAVY hobby . I actually got interested by playing a game called naval ops warship gunner 1 and 2, Which got me browsing online and I stumbled upon this hobby via youtube.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buckeyebattlesquadron/?yguid=350307690 also there are treaty folks up around dayton. Mike Deskin would be a good contact, I can't seem to find his email right now.
You live in a pretty good location if you are interested in the warship combat. The Buckey Battle Squadron is based out of Newark, Ohio. They are fast-gun. The Treaty group has a battle site in Xenia, Ohio. Perhaps an hour from you (depending on where in the Cinci area you live). We are having a two-day battle at the Xenia location on the weekend of October 16-17. Feel free to drop in and meet the folks. The Midwest Battle Group will also be at that event. They are a big-gun group. So you would be able to see both Treaty, and big-gun ships. The two groups will take turns battling sortie style battles. There are quite a few battlers here in the Dayton area. And a couple down there in Cinci. Welcome to the hobby, and this site. Mikey
