You're only running 2300mAH?! In an Alsace!?!? Wow!

I think he was on 12v, but I don't recall for certain. Our systems in treaty tend to be less power hungry because we're not drawing big amps on our pumps and motors, so we can get away with setups that you guys in the MWC wouldn't dream of using. We also allow changing batteries between sorties, so you can run a smaller battery and swap out if you don't have a good charge or are just using small batteries.

With limited pump volume in Treaty we can really save the current draw on pumps. Mikey gave me a Johnson 12V 550 that really sips power for the pump. It was the last of those he had, so I am looking for more. (I will post the part number here as soon as I can.) Under load it was drawing only 0.6A. It also helped that drive motors were very efficient as well. With the drive motors I put in it (draw under load = to drive with no shafts for standard BC / Johnson 550s) I should be able to battle all day on one charge of my 10Ah pack. All day battling for 4 lbs? Yes please :)

This setup would not be very competitive in fast gun due to the un-measured flow rates, and lack of prop wash. I hooked up those 2300mAh cells in parallel and added another 4600mAh pack I had in series for 4600mAh total at 12.8-13.2V for this past Saturday. I was able to get in all three sorties on one charge easily.

The mounting brackets for the flat cells (the bracket acting as a jumper) are, bluntly, crap. I had several electrical issues pond side that I determined were caused by minor bumps, etc. Other than an issue with my rudder servo, everything I had problems with were due to those brackets.
The boat battled very well with dual side-mounts port and starboard, plus dual chase guns. I did end up being the only veteran on the Allied team for the second sortie of one battle, and a very considerate Axis captain in a Scharnhorst (*cough* Mangus *cough*) decided to lay off the rookies. He got under my guns and laid into me. I ravaged his superstructure in return.

Alas, four events running this boat and pulling it out of the water (the last time it was full of water, but not sunk -- technically ) have made me realize that a class 7 is too much for me. I traded it to Matt, who traded it to Phil when it wouldn't fit across the back seat of his Ram. I heard Phil offer to trade it to Mikey for something, so I have no idea who actually has the boat right now.

This was a really fun boat to build, and a blast to battle. I had never seen on on the water and I love to do boats that are uncommon, and unaligned.

What did you get in trade?

I traded the boat without internals, but with the guns, pump, and motors for the Emile Bertin with internals, an Espana sheeted hull with props and rudder, an ESC, regulator, and a couple of other bits.
