I think I will have to give that a try. It should help the weight distribution as the bottle is moved from the bow to amid ships.

Started to rebuild the rear hatch. The two barbettes were cut out and installed. More work to come.

I have to make up for a year without building anything and no sailing. I really want have 3 ships available to run at any given moment.

I decided to make a firing box like what Jay has in his scharnhorst. I picked up a snap lid box today. I will start to make a platform to install the two servos. the throttle servo will not go into the box.

The snap lid box was too small to use as a firing box The lid would not be able to be closed. Looked for larger snap lid box but couldnt find one. So I went and got a pvc junction box that is waterproof. The lid has a rubber gasget and screws down. I got the poppets placed. I just have to make the holders for the servos. I will need to drill one other hole for the servo extenders. Once the servos are mounted and I will goop and silicone the openings to make it water proof.

Got the poppet valves installed in the firing box as well as the servos. servo pump switch was installed in the box. There is only one hole left to drill and that will be the servo leads for the receiver. Tommorow I will goop and silicone the poppets in place.

The poppets have been gooped and siliconed into place. I will screw in the lid and test by immersing it in water to check for leaks.

Well I am back at it this afternoon. The rudder servo and mount has been installed. I am now in the process of remounting the rear cannons as well as prepping balsa for sheeting.

Are the poppets in the box MAV-2's or MAV-3's?

The poppets are mav 2's. I think there is a mav 3 to run the duals.

If you've got a MAV-3 venting inside the box, you'll need a check valve to let the gas pressure escape without letting water in.

Went back at the Tennessee this afternoon. The batteries and pump have been wired up. My waterproof box did not fit once I put the bottle in so I cut the box and moved the servos to different spots in the bow to make room.I just need to get some contact cement to start sheeting. Then comes the pneumatics.

The sheeting has been done. The gaps were filled with bondo and sanded. One side had outer silkspan attached.
