The othe sde has been silk spanned. It is now drying. Hopefully I can get some paint on this weekend.
Started painting. The greey and the red have been applied. Starting to paint the hull i the measure 32 1D pattern. Anyone one know what a good substitute for deck blue?
DECK BLUE (FS36081) Testors=Euro I Gray (FS36081) spray can#1988 It appears that there is several names for this color. HAZE GREY (FS36270) It is a tougher one to know because it seems to have 2 different sheens but this one seems to be the right one. Testors=Neutral gray (FS36270) Testors Model master acrylic=Neutral gray #4757 (FS36270) NAVY BLUE (FS15042) AKA 5-N Testors model master=Dark Sea Blue spray can #1917
Thanks Ken. I found a matt sea blue which I will use for the deck blue. It is looking better. Hopefully some pics tomorrow.
Here are some pics of The Tennessee. It will need some touch up on it. The next thing would be the secondaries and AA built and attached to the deck.
Found some rings that I can use as 40 mm gun tubs. Starting to mock them up. Thinking of how I can create some of the 20 mm AA guns. I should have an idea by tomorrow.
Started making my 40 and 20mm gun emplacements. I am hoping to have them made and painted this evening.
Going to do my forthcoming allied BB in camo. Not looking forward to the resheeting and re-camoing before Nats next year, but they look so good in camouflage
Actually the tubs are metal rinsg I found at Kent. I will have them mounted this evening and I will take some pics.
I will be using a mixture of goop and some silicone. CA would have it too brittle from any bb strikes.
Here is the Tennessee with the secondaries and most of the AA. I have to build some gun directors. Some more and another
So amidships by the superstructure I need to build a level so I can add some more AA as well as the gun directors.
Working on some gun directors this evening. Tommorow I will make the platforms for the gun directors and the AA guns.
