Thanks VVaholic, I appreciate the "How To". It sure gives me a starting point to work from. The picture is especially helpful. I can visualize the concept of the construction.

I am an appropriately verdant hue over the look of your Mississippi. I hope mine turns out half as good. I'm going for the earlier masting though.

I have installed a new rudder shaft today. The old rudder was gooped onto the new shaft. The shaft seems to turn well. I made sure I put some grease in to keep it turning smoothly. I will see in a while how well the goop holds to the brass rod.

Well a bit of a setback. It looks like my dx6 radio may be toast. The radio fell and the antenna had the plastic crack. But more than that it cant even find the receiver. When I do the bind/range test button I am getting no light. I am hoping it is the antenna and not the receiver. Any suiggestions?

Get another radio. My Dxi fell and I broke the toggle that you use to get the binding setup. Well it doesn't keep the signal for long rendering the TX useless. These radios are not as robust as the old transmitters which you can bang around and drop a few times and they still work. I guess the housings don't absorb shock damage too well.

Probably had a bad solder joint that broke. Open it up and check, look especially around where the antenna connection is. It already doesn't work, so trying to fix it costs you nothing more than time.

I put a 1 pound weight in the bow and what a difference. It was on the waterline. The boat still goes like stink but since it is not ever going to see combat I am fine with that. I will have to build some sort of break water to direct some of the water as it is coming in over the bow.

How about putting that rubber shark on the bow with the gaping maw that you used at IRCWCC NATS 2010. That should deflect the water and swallow any bbs that fly in it's direction.
